Interview #9: Last Remains

Bulgaria also has a metalscene. And its good as the rest of the world's. Yet it's unknown, there are some really talented artists though. I found out about Last Remains, a heavy band, playing something between Metalcore and Deathcore. They keep it metal and the have fun at it!
I pretty like these dudes and i really want to share them with all of you, so check out my interview with them.

Q: What were the reasons, for getting the band started?
A: We were young and didn't know what we were doing. It was a joke in the beginning, but an year later it was something serious. And now we are almost ready with our debut album to hit the stores and decimate the world.

Q: Describe your sound to us.
A: Our sound is something like a crossover of deathcore/metalcore and some death/thrash elements in the songs. We have a lot of breakdowns and less riffs, but the song structures are not boring and stupid.

Q: Are there bands that influenced your sound?
A: Yeah, most of them are american bands, we all have different tastes in music and we put a lot of different stuff. Our vocalist is the metalwikipedia, but anyways we have some common taste in music - like Impending Doom, Whitechapel, The Acacia Strain and some other death metal bands, but our fans say that we have different genres in our song structures.

Q: How came the ideas for your band name. Is there a reason for it?
A: Well, this is a though question, but we think the answer is - Last Remains means something for each and other fan or even human being, every listener can define it in his meaning, but we define it as the last remains needed for the end of a object or structure to be perfect.

Q: Which genre would your band define the most?
A: Modern Deathcore with some metal riffs. But in the joke meaning - Brutal Beatdown Deathcore with Not-so-melodic Metalcore.

Q: Have you known what kind of music you want to play, before starting the band?
A: No, that was even more cool, because we were bringing all kinds of riffs from different genres. In the beginning it was something like "thrash metal and death metal and breakdowns, but not like Dying Fetus, something like Killswitch Engage and Metallica introduce breakdowns with their riffs"

Q: Do you have a message within your music/lyrics?
A: Oh, yeah our vocalist has a strange opinion, and he is writing for all kinds of stuff, but it has meaning in his lyrics -anti-political, anti-religious(but he's a believer, but he is anti- organized religion), for hope in this world and for redemption if there is a bad thing going on.

Q: What are your favorite bands?
A: Let's make it easy and say that we love modern metal bands, without the gay stuff like Design The Skyline and all Electronic gay shit happening. But we listen to Dubstep.

Q: Where do you get your inspirations, beside to other bands, especially for the lyrics?
A: Amm, problems in our country and seeing what's wrong and people not seeing it.

Q: What are your interests beside the band? Do you guys just do the band or do you work/go to school/study?
A: Yes, some of us have finished school since last year, and some of us are working but Fridays and Sundays are days for rehearsals. We have interests in drinking beer with friends, going to concerts for local bands and making new music, lolz.

Q: What things are coming up? News about new releases, new merch, line up changes?
A: Our Debut Album " The False Concept Of Life" is gonna be ready any time soon, and fans be prepared for some rough shit.

Q:What was your sickest show?
A: All of them are sick, but the last show in Razgrad was big and people were like "Yo, Last Remains rule"

Q: Which bands would you like to tour with and how would your favorite tour look like?
A: Our tour which we want to live out is - Impending Doom, Whitechapel, Demon Hunter, Killswitch Engage and Last Remains, but it's not necessary to be headliners.

Q: Any messages left to fans, friends or family?
A: Yo, take care, do whatever is right, have faith and hope and buy our album when it's out !
We would like to thank FORTHELIONS for giving us the chance to express ourselves in this interview, and Cheers to all the drinkers and non-drinkers.

From me to Last Remains also a big thanks!
I can only recommend to be open minded to any unsigned or unknown band from any country on earth! You should really give them a try! The bands who care about fans, are the only ones, who are worth to be listened to! Money is a side aspect! So check these guys out!

Cheers.
