Review:
I don't know when and how i found out about these guys, but i lately listened to this album again and added these guys on Facebook. Surprisingly they have less then 100 Likes?!
In fact these guys are one of the most underrated bands i know.
I pretty like this album, and i can recommend it if you like bands, such as Unearth, War Of Ages.
Melodic Metalcore, influenced by some Melodic Death Metal, NOT in the kind of In Flames or Dark Tranquillity, but in their own way and some kind of hardcore riffing can be found on this album.
"Hung, Drawn And Quartered" also offers some catchy soloing. The vocals remind me really to the bands i named above.
Nevertheless a solid record, and i can really recommend to check these guys out! Also, please like their Facebook page and leave some comments for them.

Take a listen to the best song of them, in my opinion!

Promotion #2: A Bright New Horizon

Origin: West Virginia, US
Genre: Hardcore/Metalcore/Christian
For fans of: August Burns Red, Norma Jean, Architects, many other bands!

Addison, the vocalist of these guys, added me at Facebook and i checked his band "A Bright New Horizon".
Actually these guys play a good mix of hardcore and metalcore, also with clean vox. You can't find a single category of music, they really sound similar to many bands you might have listened, but i don't know which lol. Maybe they are pretty unique in a special way, mysterious. They also sound similar to hardcore bands from the UK scene. Thats why i like them, and their vocalist is pretty nice to talk, though i just know him since last moments! Great point for a band, to talk to people! Another cool thing is, these guys are pretty young, Addison is just 15 years old and does a great job for his age! These guys are currently working on a new ep, coming up within the next months! Get stoked!
Definitely check them out! Facebook link is above!

Cheers!

Review:
Actually these guys made my day! I love everything thats metalcore and from Australia, and these guys actually fill a great part of my collection. Sinusoid. An ordinary name, and their tunes have something, that reminds me of my early days listening to metal. In this times, all bands try to sound different and unique. Sinusoid show that you don't have to. They are different to other bands, because they might sound similar, but indeed they don't. They have this raw metalcore sound and keep it simple, yet great! Definitely check these guys out, and please LIKE them on Facebook! Also tell your friends and your friends friends!
They are pretty much worth it!

Review #5: The Artifact - Eternal Dreams And What Could Be

Album: Eternal Dreams And What Could Be
Artist: The Artifact
Year: 2011
Origin: Arizona,US
Genre: Melodic Metalcore
Rating: 4,5/5

Tracklist:
1. Awakening
2. Regeneration
3. Coalesence
4. Requiem
5. Visualize
6. Grayscale (Part 1)
7. Color (Part 2)
8. Triumph
9. Conception
10. Severance
11. Manifest
12. Dreamer

Review:
The Artifact, are probably a new hope for good metal bands. They aren't really to be categorized into one kind of metal. They play metal in their own way. You can hear out metalcore, progressive, classical, death metal and many more elements, and all are put together into a perfect mixture!
Their debut album "Eternal Dreams And What Could Be" is just the beginning of a new era of metal. Actually this is the new project of members of "iwatchedherdie" and "March Against Fear"and since i am a fan of both, i really love their overflow in this new band.
I can highly recommend to check these guys out, if you like metal, if you like metalcore and if you like artistic musicm because this album is a huge masterpiece!
Catchy melody parts and solos, and heavy as well. Only thing, what mostly gets critics, are the vocals, but for me they are just awesome. It depends in your own opinion. They have a cool way of bringing together growl parts, which also might be great sing-alongs to nice guitar parts and also bring in a clean voice, which sounds rarely different to many bands i've listened to.

Be sure to check them out, they are great dudes to talk, and actually care about their fans and friends, what is a great point for a band, since there are bands that just make music to get money.

Take a listen to my favorite song of them so far, who knows what these guys bring out in future!

 Regeneration

Please support these guys and tell your friends, these guys gonna be huuuuge!
Also like them on facebook (link is above)

Cheers!

Review:
Since there aren't that much Melodic Hardcore bands in germany, i actually found out about White Fields.
I listened to this once and thought ok... Then last weekend i checked them again and fall in love with those 4 songs.
*Really good lyrics and an absolute perfect balance of guitar riffs, crowned with well fitting drums. The songs are so catchy, and never get bored. I listened the last few days to only those songs and still can't get enough.
White Fields, are really underrated and need to be bigger. I hope to hear more of them in the future and i will definitely support these guys.

Review #3: Carpathian - Isolation

Album: Isolation
Artist: Carpathian
Year: 2008
Origin: Australia
Genre: Hardcore/Melodic Hardcore
Rating: 5/5

Okay guys. Long time nothing...
Just got the idea to show you at least once a week one of my absolute all time favorite albums ever!
This time this is my absolute favorite.
Same as I Killed The Prom Queen, another band, that was over many years, gone into hiatus.
But not for me! I hear this cd at least once a day, though i just got it on iTunes, because it's too hard to get a real copy to Germany.
To the album. I took "Isolation" because it's just amazing. The lyrics just fit great to many situations i had experienced in my live. Martin Kirby was my idol in songwriting. And he will still be, who knows what project he will start in future?!
Carpathian went as band together over many years, and changed their style a bit from their first album to the next. On "Nothing To Lose" it was just hardcore, great undefinable hardcore. On "Isolation" their music got darker. Their lyrics on this cd really touch my heart and my soul.
This is exactly "the album" that a real fan of "modern" melodic hardcore has to buy/have in his collection. Simple yet excellent fitting riffs and lyrics, with texts that get stuck in the head of the listener after hearing it once or at twice.
I don't know what i really have to say to this album... It's just a great one.

Listen to my favorites (which were really hard to choose...)

Cursed

Ceremony

Permament

actually the song "The Cold Front" is missing in my top songs, but i couldn't find it on YouTube!
Definitely check out if you like bands such as Defeater, The Carrier or Modern Life Is War!

My last words are dedicated to Carpathian:
Guys, your music was the best! Thanks for the nice time, though i wasn't able to see you guys live!
This album opened my eyes in bad times! I could cry when i sing along, but a diehard doesn't to this hehe ;)
Thanks for everything and good luck in your future!

Be sure to check out newer projects of the members:

Warbrain, includes guitarist Lloyd Carroll.
Hopeless, includes David Bichard on the drums.
Colossus, has bassist Edward Redclift in.
Martin Kirby and Josh Manitta actually have no new project in my knowledge.

Sincerely. Hendrik.

Preview #1: All Shall Perish - This Is Where It Ends (2011)

I'm so fucking stoked! Probably the only band, who expand their style to positive. This will be a great release! Can't wait, for the 26. July!

Review #2: Isla Sorna - The Fallout

(Note: Not their official artwork!)

Album: The Fallout [EP]
Artist: Isla Sorna
Year: 2011
Origin: West Virginia, US
Genre: Deathcore
Rating: 5/5

Tracklist:
1. The Fallout
 2. Blood Of Man
 3. With No Mercy
 4. Illusionist
 5. Oppenheimer's Rue
 6. Regret Not

For people who are fans of bands such as "Monsters" or "The Acacia Strain".
You might think, oh damned... not another deathcore band that has the same sound, BUT
Isla Sorna, definitely have their own. They are a colored spot in a black mass, they are unknown, yet when you try to compare those with other bands, you will recognize that these guys have their own style!
Especially the vocals, They might sound similar to Monsters or Acacia Strain, but also they have different yet fitting high screams. And i don't know another band that brings together the sound of general deathcore and bands like the ones i told.
The cd "The Fallout" is a great brew of songs. They have catchy riffs in lots and catchy breakdowns to bang your fucking heads too!
For me this is the best band, that is unsigned, they also shared stage with bands such as Born of Osiris and After The Burial. And i'm telling you what, if you are able to share stage with those bands, you must be really talented and great! I really dig this shit!
Check out!

In the link below you can get the ep for free, but you can also donate something if you want, i appreciate if you do, and Isla Sorna off course too!

Interview #1: Isla Sorna

This is awesome, finally my first interview! Let me introduce you to a band, whose members are as awesome as their music. This band is one of my favorite bands too, also Corey, the singer, who actually is a good friend to me, was so free to do this interview with me!

Here we go...

Q: Where do you come from and how did you get the band started/what were the reasons?

A: I am originally from Spring Lake, North Carolina. At the age of three my family moved back to Charleston, West Virginia. I have always had a love for music and as a child dreamed of being on stage. I left my previous band, Months To Go, because I had gotten a good job but, didn't have very flexible hours. After being laid off of work, i got another job with much better hours and decided to start a Deathcore band just for fun. I contacted my former guitarist and drummer and later found Langdon to play guitar. things weren't really working out so, Langdon told me about his cousin Chris. I knew one drummer that was free at the time so, i contacted Tyler. a week or so later me (vocals), my cousin Travis (former bassist), Chris (guitar), Langdon (guitar), and Tyler (drums) got together in a little shack on Tylers property and jammed for the first time writing a song that was not on our EP and blood of man.

Q: Tell us about your music/sound/style. What makes Isla Sorna's sound being it's sound?

A: I honestly think that we have a different tone than other local bands in our area. I think that we sound like a blend of monsters, within the ruins and a hint of the acacia strain and that's how it's been since the start but, we will be changing things up a little on our next EP.

Q: Where do you get your ideas, inspirations for the your music's lyrics and instruments?

A: My inspiration mostly comes from life experiences, past and present and not to mention my outlook on religion.

Q: Tell us about your band name, what does it mean, where does it come from?

Isla Sorna was the name of one of the islands from the movie jurassic park. there really isn't any true meaning to the name, just that we feel like it kind of sets a certain tone for our music. Big, loud, fun lol, i suppose.

Q: Which bands are your influences? / Which bands are your personal favorites?

A:  King Conquer, Within the Ruins, After The Burial, For the Fallen Dreams, The Contortionist, American Me, Architects, etc. I could go on all day on what influences me! I can pretty much listen to anything other than country. Non-metal bands that influence me are, Modest Mouse, City & Colour, CCR, Iron and Wine, gotta slow it down sometimes lol

Q: Do you guys have a message, which shall be said through your music?

A: The message may be hard to get. My message is basically to live your life freely with no regrets and to stand up for what you believe in. I believe anyone can look at my words and find their own meaning in it.

Q: What things are coming up? Any news on new stuff, such as music, merch, and so on?

A: We are still working on merch at the moment, we are all a little indecisive at the moment and we are also working on a new EP. Can't say when we will start on it, or when we will be finished. Not yet anyway!

Q:  What was your sickest/best show, whats your dream venue and which band would you like to tour with and why?

A: That's a hard question, my dream tour would be with After the Burial, King Conquer, The Chariot, Norma Jean, For the Fallen Dreams, Attila, The Acacia Strain, Within the Ruins and Dr. Acula. I just love those bands.

Q: Any messages left to fans, friends, family?

A: Thank you everyone who has ever came to our shows, talked to us, told friends about us and the 1,194 people who downloaded our EP, I'd also like to say thanks to Langdon's family and Tyler's too for letting us practice so late, all the time! Thanks to And special thanks to Hendrik Bormann for all of your helping support towards Isla Sorna.

... And a big thanks from me to Corey and Isla Sorna again! Thx for the time we had, though we live on distance lol, and i'm glad to found out about you, i will definitely dig the time we will share in future. And i see you guys, being a great attraction too :) Thanks a lot!

Be sure to check Isla Sorna out! They are just amazingly awesome!

seriously, Hendrik.

In Flames - Deliver Us (New Song 2011)

Album: Sounds Of A Playground Fading
Artist: In Flames
Year: 2011
Origin: Sweden
Genre: Melodic Death Metal
Rating: 3/5

Complete different to their old works for sure and another difference to their previous album "A Sense Of Purpose". Yet this song is quite good, though not excellent and not better then their older stuff from "Clayman", "Soundtrack To Your Escape" or "Come Clarity", since i am a big fan of the old things from them.

The solo keeps the song ok, but i'm stoked for the rest of the album too, i hope to hear better songs then this.

Review #1: - Hope For The Dying - Dissiumlation

Album: Dissimulation
Year: 2011
Origin: IL, United States
Genre: Progressive Metal/Metalcore/Awesomeness
 Rating: 5/5

This album, is complete different, to all of what i have expected from it!
"Hope For The Dying", a band from Illinois, US... in my opinion a band, that should be more known. Their style of metal, spiced with neo classical elements is a pure earcandy. The new album "Dissimulation", migtht bring a new era to metal, the songs don't get boring, though the are quite long. Almost every song has at least one catchy solo part, which fits perfectly to the song. For people who like guitarsolos in general, a masterpiece of modern metal music, and for those who acutally don't like too many solos also a good piece, because while listening, there are many hard part, to bang the head to too. While listening to this, you fall into an addiction, the melodies are too catchy, to skip, and soon as they are over, great heavy parts lead into the next fast or even so slow, yet excellent solo with a classical touch.
The lyrics are as the bands members are, bound to christianity. But actually christs always have a good message to people, as so the music has messages to their listeners. The most important thing is the love to music, and this Dissimulation is a drug! Heavy and from the heart, what already can be heard in the intro song called "Exordium".

My conclusion: This album is perfection! Maybe not for everybody, but a must have for Fans of modern styles of metal and lovers of long guitarsolos, yet HFTD kept the album heavy though. Definitely worth, buying it!!!!!

Support these great guys and buy the album at iTunes or click "here" to purchase now! Also check out their old stuff, i recommend listening to the song "City of Corpses"!!!

Here a song from "Dissimulation", chosen from me, because i love it!
